I may go back to this one. I think I just wasn't in the right mood for this story.

Well, things have definitely improved with Callaway for me. I went from actively disliking my previous outing to thinking one was fine.

The Harry Kent is a disgraced scientist turned police officer turned fake bodyguard, and Tessa is his charge. There's some banter, much banging, then an HEA.

What has compelled me through multiple Callaway books is her suspense elements. The crime aspects of her work provide a lot of momentum which carries the read.

But I don't think I'll recall much about these two outside of the fact that he wear glasses and she has a pet ferret.

Shoutout to Marian Hussey for excellent audio narration.

Writers style is not for me, too vulgar in the sex scenes and the plot was bland. Mat read the next one but I’ll be looking for another regency romance series.

While I enjoyed this book and will continue with this series, I didn’t like how long the secret about Harry’s identity went on. I also found Tessa a bit immature at times. She wanted to be taken seriously and help rule the underworld, but also had zero instincts about people, Harry, lying to her and acted often acted impulsively.

Overall the books is fun. I kept track of all the funny euphemism that were used during the sex scene.

Narrator did a great job.

Making a fountain explode so she won’t kiss the other guy. Library hookups. Ferret obsession. The Princess of crime. A policeman. Found family. Revisiting past characters. Climbing out via sheets. Friends in low places.

I thought it was good but some parts were unnecessary and the ending is kinda rushed . So much is going on but then it gets wrapped up so conveniently especially the big secret that gets revealed 80% into the book. It was building the whole time for it to be resolved in less then a chapter. I did like the characters though, they were entertaining and cute.

### Review

"You know when a book is so good that you are still reading it at 2 am....This book had it all: drama, laughter and a few tears as well.  The **chemistry between Harry and Tessa just sizzled off the pages**....If I could I would give this book **ten stars**, but I'm only allowed to give 5/5 stars." - Boonies123 Book Review

"There's nothing I love more than reading a beautifully written and unique historical romance! The Duke Identity by Grace Callaway is **easily one of my top reads of 2018**." - Nightingale Reads

*"*I truly love a story set in London's underworld, and to top it all off it has an enemies to lovers trope (which is my favourite). I adored Harry, he is **everything I enjoy seeing in a hero** and Tessa made me laugh so many times....Grace Callaway is a new author to me and I am definitely looking forward to reading more of her books." - 5 stars, Candace, Goodreads reviewer

"Harry and Tessa have a long road to travel before they realize that they can trust another person with their heart. There are many obstacles and they are not easily overcome but it is worth it in the end. There is so much **mystery, passion, heartbreak and love** that it was **hard to put the book down**. The characters are colorful, there is cheekiness in the story, and you cannot help but love them all." - 5 stars, Angela, Goodreads reviewer
