I love love!!! I love how Breaker is the best Cane brother in bed. Funny he is a nerd yet a hot one. Lia is a nerd and a hot one And has purple glasses. I got pissed when Brian said they are for children. Can’t we all just do and wear what we love!

This one took me awhile. Sloooooooowwww burn. Felt like it took forever to get going then BOOM it was over. I love the characters and I’m intrigued to read the other brothers stories but prob won’t because the pace isn’t my think.
First off, what kind of a name is Breaker? Is it a thing? Or is it one of those names chosen purely for how unusual it sounds?
This book was fun, and sweet, but I would argue that the relationship between said Breaker and Ophelia is actually better before it takes a romantic turn. Don't get me wrong, the romance is cute and all, but their relationship's dynamics just slapped way more as friends. This means that it is ANOTHER loss for the friends-to-lovers trope, which never seems to be a win for me? How can you be "best friends" for more than 10 FREAKING YEARS with someone and wake up one day only to realize "damn I actually want to bang that girl!" This just doesn't make any sense to me. Also - poor Birdy. She was totally played. And she took it like a champ regardless. A toast for Birdy.
However, let it be said that Meghan Quinn's sharp and fun writing, the snarky banter the characters have got going, and the whole concept of "the Beave" made for a very enjoyable story, and elicited a few cackles from me. I went directly from book 1 to book 3 in the Cane Brothers series, but I might actually backtrack to read JP's story.
