I really enjoyed this book and think that it's a powerful story about fitting in and race for the 7th-9th grade crowd.

A pretty solid bullying story with a strong voice and interesting characters. Pretty emotional with a lot of great female characters as well. If I had to give one MINOR quibble, it's that the author's Queens felt a bit dated. Like someone that had grown up in Queens quite some time ago. The fact that the main character doesn't really ride subways (she's off of the 7 line, it seems like, which has been voted the nicest/cleanest train in the city before). I don't know anyone who grew up in Queens, in the areas that she mentions, that wasn't on the subway all the time.

I couldn't help but get wrapped up in Piddy's difficulties dealing with moving, boys, bullying, friends, and family. I ended up more emotionally involved than I expected to be.

A powerful story about the effects of bullying and how to find a way to stand up to it. I know dozens of kids that I would love to see read this book.

Being a teenager is so DIFFICULT. Captures this 16 year old’s journey as her body develops curves and she manages unwanted attention and multiple other layers of teenage troubles.

It's like a cliche movie, Piddy is bullied by Yaqui Delgado, beaten up, but she transfers to her old High School and then everything is fine. Her passion for Joey was beautiful, even though she didn't love him. It's a good book.

read this one in 1 day... the story of bullying is saddening and oh so realistic for so many of our students. A must read for HS students and teachers alike.
