Eine klassische Gilm Noir Geschichte, bei der ich mehrfach an die Verfilmung mit Humphrey Bogart und Lauren Bacall denken musste. Die Charaktere sind oft stereotyp, aber der Plot entwickelt sich vielschichtig und nimmt aus der Perspektive des Schnüfflers eine ganz eigene Dynamik an. Gutes Lesefutter!!

For whatever reason, I've never really read mysteries or noir novels before. However, I was really impressed by [a:Raymond Chandler|1377|Raymond Chandler|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1206535318p2/1377.jpg]. The way he described rooms and scenario was excellent, he paid as much attention to detail as one would expect necessary for a competent detective. A solid, quick read, and a good choice for the book club I have with some friends.

Definitely one of the best crime/thrillers that I have ever read. Loved the writing style and Philip Marlowe will not be forgotten. Had a bit of difficulty keeping up with the convoluted plot, especially after a glass of wine.
