i was really excited going into this story but for me, it was slightly dull. the concept itself has great potential, i just wish it was explored a bit more in a magical way rather than the mundane of daily life.
i am dissapointed in the ending altogether. although the final meeting is a nice closure i am annoyed that Jessica's life was ripped away and forced to live untrue to herself. she may find difficulties living an unauthentic life later on but idk?
i was just slightly bored at a few of the Lauren days, it's quite repetitive and the action is really only in the last chapter. some more insight into the truths Jessica was discovering about Lauren's lived experiences could have been entertaining and seeing her stand up for what Lauren deserves would have been nice (in terms of her married life)
a quick, somewhat enjoyable read nonetheless. just not thrilling enough for me <3

I didn’t take to it up kept going in the hope I would ward to it/ it would pick up. It never did. Disappointing ended.
I should have DNF'ed but I was curious on how she was going to wrap it all up... was not worth it. It was such an interesting concept but the execution was so poor. The writing style was so prescriptive and don't get me started on the love interest, I've never seen instalove like it, so unbelievable. Also, this whole book is meant to take place over 2 weeks? Wtf?
I had had this on my TBR for a while and I thought I would finally give it a go.
And OMG was this book funny, think I must have been grinning like an idiot on my lunch break today, trying not to laugh out loud.
I really enjoyed this, was total chick lit but it was a story that just sucked you in.
I really loved the character of Jessica and her struggle to do what was right for herself as well as Lauren's family.
I however didnt like the ending, I dont want to give too much away but I didnt think that would happen and it seemed such a shame and poor Dan, I soo felt for him! The ending did leave it open that eventually everything would sort itself out for both of them so I suppose that compensated for it in a way.
If you like Sophie Kinsella or Cecilia Ahern I would recommend this one.

This certainly wasn't the worst thing I've ever read but I didn't like nearly any of the characters and the writing style and dialogue read as stilted and uncomfortable to me. It didn't feel human.
The plot had the potential to be really interesting, and one of the very few characters I actually liked was Teddy, who knew what was going on just as quickly as Jessica did.
But there was some irresponsible pet ownership that, as a guinea pig girl, fully angered me, the relationships were all rushed to a cringeworthy fault and the ending was really predictable.
It read a very similar way to Reasons to be Cheerful and clearly I just don't vibe with narratives in that style.

Two women are hit by lightening at exactly the same time on the same day. One survives - Jessica - but one doesn't - Lauren. Inexplicably, Jessica finds herself occupying Lauren's body every time she falls asleep, and vice versa. With no answers forthcoming, Jessica is forced to lead a double life, managing Lauren's four children alongside her own busy career. Can Jessica come to terms with her situation or have matters fallen into other hands?
Going by the cover, I thought this would be another feel-good romantic romp with some kind of magical theme thrown in. Boy, I couldn't have been more wrong! It's kind of a time travel, soul swapping story which actually turns out to be really depressing at the end. Don't read this if you're feeling down and expecting a pick-me-up because it really won't make you feel any better. I was hoping for a resolution which would benefit all concerned but, as the end of the story drew nearer, I began to suspect what was going to happen and I was right, although Grant's conclusion came as a surprise. Was the whole thing engineered by some higher power in order to save Lauren's children? If so, what about Jessica's right to her own life? Her mum and dad losing their daughter? Grant's life?
In conclusion, a great idea which has been badly handled, leaving a sour taste in the mouth at the conclusion of the story.
