This was overall a cute and entertaining read, and I could definitely see myself sharing some hang time with Mindy. After reading this and Tina Fey's Bossypants however, I have learned that ladies of comedy/hollywood seem to obsess about their bodies and whether or not they are "fat" a little too much. I realize that they are a product of the world they inhabit, but it would be nice if they would fight against it a little bit. A woman can still be funny, but it seems people have to consider her attractive as well. Aside from that I enjoyed this book, and having already been bothered by the same issues in Bossypants I may have given that issue more "WEIGHT" in my mind than it deserved. I still like you, Mindy!

I probably would have enjoyed this more closer to when it was actually written, but I did like the insightful, funny narrative.

I read this in her voice.

Four stars for the enjoyment factor, not the literary factor. "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" is technically a "book" but it feels much more like a two hour chat with a friend. If you enjoy Kaling's show you'll probably like this. I found it funnier when I imagined Mindy saying the words out loud. I'm probably also her target audience given that 99% of her cultural references are things I've experienced: the frites craze of 2001-02 in NYC, the G train, and (sadly) The Bachelorette. Look elsewhere for substance; this book is pure brain candy.

If you love The Mindy Project, or The Office, you will enjoy this book. When you read, you hear Mindy's voice-over narrating. I'm going to start saying, "How dare you?!" To people who are making me do something I hate.

This was okay, but mostly made me come to the realization that I just don't enjoy this type of book (Bossypants, Yes, Please) and just won't bother with them in the future.

I have trouble with memoirs (or whatever this is classified as). My mind just tends to wander. But not with Mindy’s book. Mindy was fantastic. I could not stop laughing. Outloud. In public. She made me want to go out and watch all episodes of The Office. As unpopular an opinion as this is – I saw the pilot last year and hated it, but she makes me want to give it another try.

Mindy wrote this book as if she were speaking to her good friend. And between her including storylines from Twilight and Harry Potter and Titanic, I’m pretty sure if we met we would be best friends. How can I make this happen? Suffice to say, I now have a new girl crush.

lighthearted. often pretty hilarious. there's something that's always annoyed me about mindy, even though i find her adorable at the same time. maybe it's her declarative style of speaking?

another reviewer noted that the last bit of the book felt rushed, and i totally agree. i force-skimmed it, because it was pretty boring at the end.

I would recommend this to any young woman look for a quick read and some real laughs. It's a nice light read in between more serious undertakings.
