I loved this book. It has a little of everything I like: lists, cupcakes, over-the-top imaginations of life plans, children (stories of childhood and ideas for the future), musical theatre, knitting (seriously), books, The Office, unabashed admissions of crying over everything ... That's everything I'm into, right? Anyway, this book was laugh-out-loud funny and was a pretty great choice for post-dystopian novel reading. I heart you, Mindy Kaling.
This was my first ever audio book! I enjoyed hearing Mindy Kaling's stories from her past. It was funny and fairly clean as well!
I honestly loved this book. It makes me feel like Mindy Kaling and I have been friends for decades. She is such a funny person!
Mindy's book didn't have me laughing out loud like Tina Fey's did but it was still a good and amusing read. I really liked the way she admitted to thinks like getting kicked out of work and visiting the cupcake bakery five times in one week. Now having read two female comedians books, I feel that female comedians are pretty good role models. They're so much more "normal" than the rest of Hollywood.

I'm not typically a comedy reader. Mindy Kaling is definitely funny but she comes off as kind of a classist biotch in some of her pieces. I don't know if she's intentionally going for the bubble headed persona or what. This was an entertaining and fast read, but now I have little desire to read her Twitter or much else by her.
I'm a huge fan of "The Office", so it was nice to learn a little bit more about one of its stars and writers. However, there is way too much racism in this book for my liking.
Fun and easy read that's fairly well written. It's a very self centered, though amusing, portrait of her life.
