This was okay. It is a short novel, Omegaverse but one where it's not packs it's one to one (which feels odd but whatever), and I got it for free on a stuff your Kindle day. Lana goes to the scent matching ceremony last year of high school but when she gets to the article of clothing she knows it's her best friend Connor's. Best case scenario, cuz she's lived him already, turns into worst case cuz he isn't there, he's with his beta girlfriend and unaware they're a match, and she suffers through her first heat alone. His dad pays for her meds, etc. and she avoids her previous best friend for three years until he transfer back to her college and she ends up his tutor. She's on too many suppressants until he figures that out and takes her to the doc, then when he can finally scent her he know they're a match and it all goes from there. But can she trust that he really wants her? I didn't love this because she made herself suffer longer by not telling him or letting him discover it for himself. I get why she did it but it was the friends to lovers miscommunication trope where they both have feelings and assume the other doesn't, but with like a serious health concern making the stakes way higher so I didn't enjoy that. Probably won't read more by this author and now I want to find an Omegaverse that works the way I think it should.

This book started so good. I was so excited to get to them talking through their issues and maybe starting to understand each other. So much good angst and then it feels like the author rushed the resolution and everything in the middle just to get to the very abrupt ending. It was sadly disappointing.

Quick escalation of the story in the beginning. The general concept of the world is good, but the story wasn‘t amazing. There wasn’t enough grovel and the change in feelings somehow was unclear to me. In my opinion there is logic missing in the character decisions. FMC also somehow magically got her keys and phone back from her friend? The MMCs other woman also just disappeared from the picture?
