Hands down this was one of the most creative, best books I've read in a long time. The ending especially was flat out amazing.

Fun page-turner! A good beach/summer read.

I *think* this was an allegory... that was also sort of a coming-of-age book for 30-something mid-career parents? It’s set in a completely fantasy driven world that exists outside our normal lives. It was also one of those instances where I wonder if every choice the author made had some deeper meaning, and I could spend hours analyzing each scene, or if it was somewhat random and simply tempts the reader to overthink it. Certainly there were some reoccurring themes. Either way it was both thoughtful and irreverent, and generally speaking an incredibly fun read. I finished in one day of travel: waiting for my flight, on the plane, and then couldn’t stop myself from finishing it in my cab to the hotel! Quick read. Will read more by him!

Very imaginative. A bit schizophrenic at points. Great ending.

Sort of a trippy spiritual journey, where the main character reflects on important events in his life in a very, very weird way. Once you sort of knew what was happening, I enjoyed how the various scenes were small commentaries on his past.

I like weird so I liked this, it was just normal enough I think others would enjoy it.

I love a weird book. This one is up there with the weirdest ones I’ve read. Ben’s adventure is wildly unpredictable. All the way to the very last sentence. I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I was not super excited by the description, but once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. Love it!

The Hike will draw you in, keep you on The Path til the very end, and then it will sucker punch you when you least expect it and you’ll never be the same.
