Okay...I didn't hate this wordless picture book. I'm normally not at all a fan of wordless picture books, but this story about a girl befriending a bee and seeing how much beauty bees help bring to the world was very sweet.

I read this last week at work and just had to add it to my reading challenge because it’s quite possibly the best picture book I’ve read all year

This is such a beautifully illustrated book useful for creating conversations about bees and why we need them. A child will be enthralled by the sunny illustrations (including a magnificent friendly-looking sun) with plenty of background details to delight and find.

It would have been easy to add more ethnic diversity in the neighborhood illustrations as I know diversity is reality in the UK just as in the States. I will look again but I'm not sure this book is a 'mirror' for everyone when it quite easily could be.

That said, it's lovely.

A book to share in the spring, but also to go along with your science unit! I was happy to see the end notes that give some factual information to add to the information embedded within the story.

This wordless book tells a surreal tale. A girl takes care of a bee and learns about them along the way. She helps it grow and then lets it go saying goodbye. She is sad during the winter. The bee returns in the spring and all is happy again.

I enjoyed the art and as the cover shows, the bee grows big enough the girl takes a ride on the bee. It has the point of taking care of the bees who give us so much. It’s a simple sweet story. I appreciate the art and it is a soft tale.

The kids went through it fast and the nephew could read this on his own. We let him tell us the story and he had a great story. It was much more exciting than my story with more action too. He gave it 4 stars while the niece gave it 2 stars.

Very surrealistic, wordless picture book. The depth and texture of the illustrations is phenomenal and the author's note re: our world's declining bee population would be a good conversation starter.
