This was a book of two halves for me. The first half felt hard to get through, overly poetic with a lack of plot driving it. But in the second half that’s exactly what made it beautiful. I was more than happy I stuck around. The poetry of writing, examining every thought and phrase uttered to the greatest degree, is what helped me to stay in the moment with the love, pain and suffering. In the end I was incredibly touched by the book.

This would be so good if there wasn't a pedophilic age gap between the couple.

The book has a bit of a slow start but then ramps up towards the middle. I enjoy the main characters personality progression… I enjoyed reading about the experiences he went through and seeing how they tangibly impacted him almost turning him into exactly the opposite of what he was at the start of reading. The ending was diabolical and weirdly not expected by me. Enjoyable definitely but not groundbreaking.
