THREE CHEERS FOR A HAPPY ENDING FOR SPIDER! I really enjoyed the banter in this one. Reyna is a QUUEEEEEN
And also I adore the idea of thehead of the mafia being a woman !
And also I adore the idea of the
This was my least favorite in the series despite the hero being described as Thor-esque (my weakness). Spider was a confirmed moron in the last book when he accidentally shot the heroine of that book while trying to protect her. Yes, accidents happen and it was a dicey situation, but I'm not reading this for a realistic hero. I need competence and that went out the window hilariously in the last book.
My competence kink aside, this was still a fun quick read. I do like Spider (Homer) and he became such a wife guy immediately. I enjoyed the scenes where this was on display such as him backing up Reyna to his boss and to the Italian mafia. Reyna was great and definitely my favorite heroine in this series. I think it made sense for her to be more powerful than him in the context of his position and it was great to see a lady giving the mafioso dudes a run for their money.
I'm glad the series is done here. It would have been very easy to continue and I know a lot of fans wanted just that, but I think it's for the better. I've read a handful of books by this author and while I will continue to read her, I'm realizing that when it comes to the intimate scenes, all her heroes are the same exact dude. They all have the same moves/preferences and it can be a little tiring. Especially, when it's not exactly my jam. I think with the dynamic between Spider/Reyna it would have been a perfect opportunity to have a slightly more femdom dynamic or heck even let them duel it out both trying to dominate the other. It would have been a welcome change of pace and also made more sense for their personalities. Alas, we got the same as in all the other books.
The audio narrators for this series delivered just as they had in the previous installments. I recommend the audiobook if you're planning to read this. The accents are just...!

I feel conflicted with this one… I picked it up because I was in a reading slump and I had read the other 3.
Is this book great? Of course not… none of them are. You have to suspend your belief and think that these macho gangster men would all fall for these women and suddenly change. However, is it fun fluff? Yes.
I love Spider… he was intense in the last one with Riley but he seems like a guy with a good heart and a bad past. I like that Reyna was tough, but it got to be real annoying after a while when she would bicker and try to say that she didn’t like Spider when she would clearly show otherwise.
The ending was super unrealistic… it seemed like there was a sudden jump and after only a few months, she is madly in love with him. It was odd.

I’m so glad Spider found love and enjoyed that she was a powerful female lead. She became the new leader in the same way as Kate and Declan and I loved the power shift being the female instead of the male. Reyna was a great character from the start and Spiders infatuation with her made the steamy scenes perfect. I loved that the wedding brought them together, it was predictable but I wanted it.
