I only really particularly enjoyed one of the characters in this book, but I think the intricacy of Islington’s plot is going to keep me invested through the trilogy. The first half was pretty slow but I think some of the groundwork that was laid in this first book will really make for an exciting conclusion.

A solid book, excellent plotting and pacing. The prose is very basic and can feel repetitive in style but this author excels at plot and character, and I am looking forward to reading book two
