Cute.

I wasn't sure this book was really meant for young adults -- it seemed like a nice flashback to the way adolescent life feels, but viewed from the outside. I never really felt like I was in either Juli or Bryce's head, even though that's obviously what the author was attempting. Still, she did a great job of getting the reader to sympathize with Juli, at least. But since that's the natural inclination, sympathizing with her, it may have been nice to work on the Bryce character just a bit more. Although it was rewarding to see him "flip", and we more or less understood why he did it, I never really came around to liking him.

This book was a ride! Tons of character development through Julia and Bryce. My favorite part about the book was how it was duel pov. You also get the feelings from both characters during the same situation. Unfortunately, I did prefer the movie over the book. The movie sums it up perfectly so then when I read the book it felt slow.

I read this to one of my 7th grade classes and they loved it, as did I. The story is full of humor, romance, and life lessons. The story is told from two different perspectives, Bryce and Julianna, and how their lives intersect. The title of the book plays a huge roll in the story but you will just have to read it to find out...
