Beautiful ✨

In Doyle's memoir, she speaks on the trials & tribulations of an LGBTQ+ woman with children. I related to her in so many ways except for children. Navigating the world as a queer woman is rough. We're represented & also not represented very well. I'm sure it's challenging having to explain to your teenage children why your marriage to their father didn't work out & that now you're interested in women. Doyle stresses that it's okay to be a woman & feminist. It's okay to choose yourself first. It's okay to disappoint others for the sake of making yourself proud. This is something we don't hear often growing up because society taught us to conform & shrink ourselves so that others may like us, but no one ever says "What happens when you don't like yourself? What do you do then?" Because respectfully, you're the only one obligated to live with you. You've gotta love the skin you're in unapologetically. If not you, then who?

It’s a little culty and coocky. Not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s more like a collection of essays she wrote. Or random thoughts that popped in her head.

I might will read whole book if she keep all chapters in order. I don't like it when there is mixing with history in her past? whatever

I love her podcast but somehow this book wasn't resonating with me.
