whilst I really liked what the story was trying to do, it just kept falling flat in all those areas.

I was so enthralled with the magical world and the flowery prose that it carried a lot of the book for me. It was just so beautiful to read.
I just don’t know if I’m sold on Irian as the love interest. I wish we got more of him and Fia interacting. I don’t dislike him I just don’t think one night a month for a couple months is enough.
Part of me wishes this was a stand-alone cause I’m kind of nervous about where it’s going to go next.

I was very excited to pick this up after seeing a review from a friend on Instagram. I was not disappointed. From the minute that I started A Feather So Black, I was captivated by the characters and the atmosphere. I didn’t want to put it down. Lyra Selene managed to write a love triangle that I didn’t hate. I also think she did a great job of balancing the story with the romance.
Parts of this story felt predictable, but other plot points I didn’t see coming. Overall, I really enjoyed this because it definitely filled the Romantasy size hole that I had in my life. I am certainly looking forward to the next one.
