I enjoyed this. (Also- I have the fairyloot edition and I think the endpapers are beautiful.) The dedication of this book made me smile.

“For anyone who has ever doubted if they were the main character in their own story. You are.”

I was a little confused at what happened at the very *very* end, but I think I understand it. Hopefully the beginning of the next book will clear it up for me. I am eager to see what happened after all the chaos. I found myself reading fast and willing the characters to *Hurry up!!!!*

The FL edition also included a sneak peek of book two and I was happy to see who the POV was ;)

Definitely think it is worth a shot! and I will probably read the next one when/if FL announces their edition.

Good lord! How are more people not talking about this book?! It has all the things fairies, princes, princesses, magic, romance, and spice! I tore through this book in a day. While it is swan princess themed it has an original story and magic system. I did not see any of the storyline coming. I especially loved the bonus at the end!

For a romantasy that was centered around Celtic lore, I really enjoyed this. It was a little on the long side with some chapters acting as kind of a filler, but I'm very curious as to how this will play out as a trilogy. I don't normally like love triangles, but this one was done so there really wasn't that much drama.
I did the audiobook which helped a lot with the terminology. The narrator was great as well.

Literally stopped at page 9 when the author spent an entire paragraph explaining how impossibly thin the MC was but also how she still could probably bring down a beast.

I’m just done with the “I was but a thin waif, you could see my collarbone through my skin, but somehow I can wield a 75-pound sword with one hand and the brooding muscled dark-eyed man simply can’t get enough of the fact that his one hand could encircle my tiny waist” like JESUS give me a female MC with some muscle and a sense of humor GOD.

Truly so sick of "he was 7 feet tall and built like a brick shithouse and i was so petite and small that I once fell into a trash compactor" like get some creativity

3★ (Proper RTC cuz I'm sick, but I wanna write some of my thoughts down at least)

Thank you NetGalley for this e-arc. I got this book literally so last m,inute that I didn't even think I'd finish it, but I did and it was so good.

Some thoughts:
I loved the folk fae, I'm always here for those things. It's one of my favorite things to read about - instead of the usual hot ones (that copuld've been just elves).
The Celtic inspired mythology and folkore was so much fun to read about. I don't think I see that much in books. There was only one thing that was confusing to me and that were the names. I had no idea how to pronounce them properly, but that's my own issue and nothing negative to say about the book. (Tho there wer some words that I had no clue what they meant. Especially the names of the fae creatures.)
I loved our main character. She was interesting and fierce. She was enjoyable to read about.
I also loved the romance. Tho I'm not the biggest fan of love triangles, ngl. But this one seemed quite obvious.
The only thing I didn't like too much was the pacing. It felt a bit too slow for me. I wish things were happening a bit faster.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this!

I'll edit this review once I feel better, just wanted to write some things down :>
