Fourth in the Demonica erotic, dark urban-fantasy series set in a demon hospital underneath New York City and revolving around a family of demon brothers.

The Story
Lore has just found out about his brothers (Passion Unleashed ) and brought Kynan back to life for Gemma. And, shit, now his demon master is requiring that he kill Kynan as his 100th assassination. A marker that will set Lore and his sister, Sin, free. If Lore fails…Sin will lose her head, literally.

Unfortunately for Lore, a Memitim angel has been assigned to protect Kynan for his immortal life…or until he accomplishes the purpose Heaven sees for him.

The Characters
Lore bonded himself as a slave to a demon assassin master, Detharu, in exchange for Deth buying his sister, Sin, from out of slavery. When he achieves his 100th assassination job for his master, he will be set free. Lore and Sin are twins, which means they are both siblings to Eilodon, Shade, and Wraith.

Having been bought out of slavery, Sin is still bonded to Detharu as an assassin. A lifestyle which she enjoys very much.

Idess is a Memitim, an Earthbound angel, protecting Primori, humans who have an essential task to perform in their lifetime. She has been anxiously awaiting her turn to ascend to Heaven while secretly nursing a secret sin of her own…a betrayal of her brother, Rami, which prevented him from ascending to Heaven for an extra 200 years.

My Take
It's interesting to read the interactions between Idess and Lore. Idess may be an angel, but she sure acts more like a demon in her imprisonment of Lore. As well as her, ahem, forbidden passions.

Ione kept up a nice bit of passion throughout the story and I certainly never saw this ending coming! I regret very much that the next in the series, Sin Undone, signals the end of the series. I'll have to check out her other books because I have enjoyed Ione's sense of humor and her writing very much. A very unique perspective!

The Cover
The cover is consistent with previous covers in the series; it has a metallic purple tone over the nude torso of a nicely-muscled torso of a man with a gorgeous, scrolly tattoo covering his right arm up across his shoulder.

The title, Ecstasy Unveiled, is rather suggestive and so very true when the true joy of sex is unveiled for Idess.

I quite liked this one. The plot was well-paced and the hero was enough different from the norm to make it interesting.

I love Shade but in this book he was my least favorite person. He was a jerk to Lore up until the last portion of the book. And I understand why but my heart still ached whenever Lore was brushed aside in favor of Kynan, not that I don't like him. But I'm glad he found his HEA with Idess. She is perfect for him. I can't wait for Sin to get her HEA.

I am currently reading 5 different books. I couldn't find one that would keep me glued to it. Well problem solved with Larissa Ione's Ecstasy Unveiled. Wow her books are non stop action packed. This book has it all demons, angels, vamps and wargs. You name it it's probably in here. Lore has become my favorite o this series. He and Idess are the perfect match. I don't want to give it away and spoil the book for others. I highly recommend this book. Can't wait till September 2010, when Sin's books comes out.

In novel number four of the Demonica series by Larissa Ione, we are introduced to the newest brother of the group. After not knowing about Lore and vice-versa, the brothers are still coming to terms with the new family addition. While in the process of this, Lore is also having to deal with the fact that his new assignment is to kill their good friend Kynan. Lore has no choice but to follow these orders since his boss that holds the contract for his life also holds the contract on his twin sisters life.

Enter an angel named Idess. She is basically a guardian angel and has been assigned Kynan as her human to protect. Even though Kynan is charmed and untouchable, he still is in danger and Idess needs to keep guard on him. If she succeeds, she earns her wings and can be with her family in the Heavens. While protecting Kynan, she meets Lore and they both feel the attraction. As they decide to work together in finding a loophole, Idess is shocked to discover that she now must protect Lore as well.

While I enjoyed the story of this book, I wasn't a big fan of Idess. I just couldn't connect with her like I have with the previous females in the series. Lore was sexy and charming, but Idess just didn't seem to be a good fit for him in my opinion. I could see him more with a character like Gem. He needed someone rough, tough and less angelic.

Out of all the books so far in the series, this is my least favorite. I still enjoyed it, but it just wasvnot as wonderful as the previous books. I am still excited though for the next book that features Sin who just happens to be a rare Seminus demon because she is female.
