This was an unfortunate read for me, because I’ve liked everything else I read from Alix E Harrow. But Starling House felt so superficial and rushed to me; the plot seemed to jump around, the characters felt underdeveloped, and I didn’t understand a lot of the backstory’s relevance to the actual conflict. I struggled to get through it hoping that it’d click for me, but it never did.
