I'm not quite sure how to rank this one. It is far more violent than I usually subject myself to and not as intriguing or compelling as his other work. I sorta understand why it is a book club selection, but this was a bit of a miss for me.
Movie star organizes a safari for her honeymoon trip and invites some friends and colleagues to join her. Set in 1964 during some terribly upsetting times in Africa and in a part of the world where my cousin chooses to teach.
I was reminded of Agatha Christie and kept thinking "and then there were none".

I received a copy of this book from a Goodreads contest. I would bump this up to 3.5 stars...this one was hard to rate because I really love Chris Bohjalian's books...I loved the Flight Attendant and Midwives, but this one was just kind of meh. It's really well written and most of the characters are pretty interesting but the story just jumped around a lot and it didn't really keep my attention for too long at each sitting.

So many characters, so much rambling. I almost quit several times. Then the ending. Ugh. I liked Hour of the Witch and other Ninja loan novels but this was a bust.
