I don't normally go for sci if but this book was delightful. There's instant-love but it didn't bother me as much as normal. My absolute favorite was that every time I worried we were going to hit a trope they dodged it. Overly friendly stranger tells you not to trust the guy who just saved you? Check out the facts first. Previously smart/strong heroine is kidnapped? Doesn't immediately became useless.

Only eight chapters?! In my mind, I was thinking that this was going to be the lightest piece of fluff that I've ever read. But, I was pleasantly surprised! The world and the characters that Ms. Kellison built are well-thought out, and it shows. I actually found myself craving more of her world by the end of the novella, which is something of a first for me. I would love to see this concept fleshed out into a full-length novel, because it definitely has the potential to be even better. Read it! You won't be disappointed. :)

When I first started this book I wasn't sure where it was going to go. Then after I realized that this is what everyone dreams of, a way to live out your dreams while dreaming with no consequences. Ms. Kellison takes it further in that the dream world is closely tied to real life. In an effort to protect her sister, Jordan is forced to enter a world where there might not be a way out until she meets a chimera. This story kept me wondering what would happen next and I can't wait to pick up the next installment of the Reveler series.

~ 3.5 Darkness Stars ~

Darkness Falls is book one in the Reveler series by [a:Erin Kellison|3395248|Erin Kellison|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1275545823p2/3395248.jpg]. I’m not sure how I feel about this. I’m not a big fan of things that do with the mind, dreaming, and/or time travel. I always feel there is to much to take in and to many options.

Darkness Falls is about dreaming, living a life within your dreams. It’s a shot read, but not an easy one. I had a hard time following the world at times, eventually I got use to it and some things flowed even though I did not have a complete grasp of what went on. Things will probably become more clearer as the series progresses. The characters are interesting. Malcolm is a character you want to root for and Jordan has a impious sense of humor. Their is some heavy flirting, a sex scene or two and an element of danger. The ending leaves you with some unanswered questions and a feeling that you need to read on to complete the story.

Darkness Falls is part of the Dark and Deadly box set, but also can be picked up solo. I went back and forth on Darkness Falls between liking it and not, but by the end I felt it was a good read. I would like to see what happens in book two, but it’s not a story I felt I could read again over and over.

Do you dream? Do you remember where you go when you dream? This is what happens if a scientific mind gets involved, and makes it happen. Your WILDEST dreams. Sometimes they are the scariest. There are police there too, the Chimera (pronounced with a hard "k") are the ones that protect you during your dreams. They have real lives in the waking world too, but sometimes the lines are very grey for them. This story is one of those. The grey lines. And even romance can happen.

Rook and Jordan were meant to be. I think even in the waking world they would have connected. But now that they have connected in the dreaming world the possibilities are endless. And they might just have bitten off more than they can chew.

Fast paced and engaging this story stuck, and I've already moved on to book 2, 3, & 4.

Full Review posted on Book Lovin' Mamas

Darkness Falls in the first novella of the Reveler series, Darkness Falls, from Erin Kellison and I loved this first book to a new series from Erin. Erin created a storyline I have never read before, and it intrigued me the minute I started reading Darkness Falls.

I give this book 4.5 moons, and recommend it to readers of the PNR genre and readers who are looking for something different. It’s a novella, which means it won’t take long to read. I had to sneak it in whenever my youngest was napping, and my oldest was preoccupied with reading her own books or playing video games. (It’s summer time…which means this Book Lovin’ Mama needs to hide to read)

Book 1 in the Reveler Series.

It's a new world where dreams can be shared and nightmares are awakened. Agent Malcolm Rook of Chimera is on the lookout for new talent and stumbles on a goldmine in Jordan Lane. Jordan is only trying to protect her impulsive younger sister Maisie (Maze) when she takes her first trip to Envoi, the ship where passengers go to Reve. Jordan's life is changed in one night.

If you're looking for another world with danger, new beginnings and sensuality, this is the book for you!

I read this as a part of the Dark and Deadly box set collection.
3-3.5 stars
It was a very interesting take on dreamscapes and mind control. The main characters were likeable and I am curious to see where the next book goes. There was a fair bit of explanation in the book which did make it feel like a constant introduction. I think now that it is all set up the story can continue onto the main character's sister. Anyway, definitely worth a read.

Darkness Falls by Erin Kellison

Given this book free for a review.

Jordan Lane is going to a Reve with her little sister, Maisie Lane, she is not sure of this group dreaming thing but she isn't about to let her sister go alone. At 21, Miaise jumps into anything new regardless of the danger.

Malcom Rook, alias for this mission is Micheal Reese, is looking for new talent to work in the Reves to protect them from intruders and hunt criminals in their dreams. He spots Miaise at once as one who will take to the dream scape, thinks her older sister might but she is very controlled in the waking world he would have to see if she made it into the dream.

Miaise lied to Jordon, it was not her first Reve, she had been doing thing for months and was actually a paid courier, but now she was getting nervous about the places they were sending her.

Jordon and Malcom click together both in the Reve and while awake. When a client try to entice her to fear Malcom and go with him, even though there is a lot she doesn't know Jordan chooses Malcom and leaves her old life behind.

Nightmares try to separate and kill them. Can they fight their way through and awake again? Or will they be caught in the Darkwaters of their nightmares?

Loved this story! I rate this book five stars and will be reading the rest of this series.
