It's slow going in the beginning, almost considered DNFing but powered through on audio at 2.25 instead. I like the story but they spend the whole book leading up to the big finish and then close it out all to quickly. A very 'The Good Witch' ending.

Super juvenile YA, which is weird given the characters were supposed to be 20.

The romance of this was more effective than the fantasy elements.
The magic system was a bit confusing and felt a bit flimsy (
I don’t understand why they would even have excess magic if it didn’t exist inherently in them and someone was in charge of the dosage but whatever)

But the love story was sweet and I enjoyed the main character discovering how to live for herself.

I truly think this is Rachel Griffin's best book, they keep getting better with each one. While the basis of this story is not new, I love the way this version was told. It is very atmospheric and the descriptions are beautiful. I love Tana and her relationship with everyone, but especially with Ivy. Their friendship is beautiful in the way that the understand each other and forgive each other. I cannot recommend this book enough.
