One of my favorite books of all time. Incredible worldbuilding, incredible character building. Ketterdam feels viscerally real. The twists and turns are exciting and unpredictable without ever being confusing or convoluted.

Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows reads like it was made for the screen — cinematic, fast-paced, and packed with dramatic turns. The story follows a ragtag crew pulled into a dangerous heist, unfolding in a gritty fantasy world that’s rich in style and atmosphere. With its shifting perspectives and high-stakes setup, it has the rhythm and energy of a well-edited film.
That said, the book doesn’t always live up to its potential. While the characters are given detailed pasts and personal traumas, their emotional arcs often feel designed more for narrative effect than for genuine exploration. Their paths cross in ways that seem too carefully constructed — as if they’re there to serve the plot rather than emerge naturally from the world around them. The story gestures toward emotional complexity, but rarely sits with it long enough to make it resonate. What results is a novel that looks emotionally layered on the surface, but doesn’t fully earn that weight — polished and compelling, but not deeply affecting.

Llegit en anglès. M’ha encantat. Sí, tenia les expectatives altes i les ha complert. M’ha agradat molt poder conèixer els diferents punts de vista dels personatges (sempre des de tercera persona), l’expansió que es fa del món, viure altres experiències i realitats de personatges diversos i diferents als de la trilogia de s&b, conèixer altres indrets com Kerch o Fjerda, etc, etc, etc.
El llibre m’ha semblat una gran evolució respecte a s&b.
Les frases, les reflexions que et fan sentir una muntanya russa d’emocions.
Però torno a repetir que han sigut, sobretot, els personatges que fan que aquesta sigui una gran història.
Recomano, totalment, el llibre.

yes! It took me a while to understand the world and what everything means but once i did it was amazing. The characters were the best part imo
