not my favourite anne book, i suppose because it was missing all the lovely avonlea characters but it still had charm and i loved little elizabeth

I wanted to love this book but it felt like such a snooze fest. I understand this was written way after the initial series was written but I think that’s the problem. It just doesn’t feel like it fits in.

And don’t even get me started on the letters. I could have cared less for them. I like the other books so much so this one was a bit disappointing.

Oh how I love these stories. It's fun to find the real stories behind what they chose to include in the Sullivan production of the story and seeing what they changed to better suit it. I love all the little stories woven within this one and how Anne ends up involved in so many lives. I loved the letters to Gilbert though I wish we could have seen some of his to her. On to House of Dreams!
slow-paced

There's magic in Avonlea. I missed that magic.
