This was a great ending to the series! I loved Sebastian and Yelena’s love story. I did not foresee this series ending this way, but it was so perfect.

Watching Sebastian grow throughout this series and seeing the way he just so naturally stepped into the role he was never meant to take was awesome.

I felt awful for the horrible position Yelena’s father puts her in in the beginning. I wanted her to tell Sebastian the truth, but I felt like it was handled realistically based on the situation she was in.

Also, I understood Sebastian’s reaction when he learns the truth. It was harsh, but understandable. He had no reason to believe her and was also grieving.

Speaking of his reaction to learning the truth, I have one word: clothespins. IYKYK

2.75/5 stars.

This book started out so promising. I loved Sebastian in all the other books and I was so excited to see him with his badass Valkyrie woman. But I was, unfortunately, let down. I feel like the romance of the book was rushed and unrealistic (getting en gaged after like two months, really??), and the second half was just bloody action with like zero romance. I enjoyed the first half of the book, and maybe the last chapter and the epilogue. But once we got to the wedding scene, I was not enjoying myself. Especially the scene in the dungeon -- I WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE. As I said in my review of Broken Vow, I just don't think Sophie Lark was for me, but this book had so much potential!!! I just feel liek Sebatians charscters took a complete 180 from who he was in the other 5 books which I didn't like at all.

Ranking of the series:
1. Savage Lover
2. Broken Vow
3. Brutal Prince
4. Bloody Heart
5. Stolen Heir
6. Heavy Crown

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

In Short: This series caught my eye from start to finish. Dark. Well executed. Great characters.

General Thoughts: Sometimes I feel like characters in a series can start to resemble each other too much. However, in Sophie's, each couple and every main character felt unique and different from the others. They all had a strong personality type, which I loved. They also didn't feel too much like character-casting. Sometimes, it's easy in novels to think, "Oh, this character is the blank type of character," but there wasn't too much of that here.

I have loved binging this series. They are all well done in any format. I really enjoyed this one. I wouldn't say it's my favorite of the series; the first two and the fifth ones definitely rival that. However, this was an enjoyable read. It was a bit easier to predict the plot in this one, maybe because I have now read six in the series, but I enjoyed it all the same. I can't wait to read more by this author.

I struggled to get through this book. It could have been a great book as it was a decent story. However if this is being marketed as a standalone novel then I think the author should take into account that people may pick this novel up that have never read a mafia style book before ever. I am one of those people. I was so confused when it came to the many Russian, polish and even Italian words and phrases that were littered throughout the book with no explanation of what they meant. Leaving me guessing or trying to look them up. It really pulled me out of the story each time I had to get stop to look up a word that was a different language. I wish Sophie Lark would have found a way to introduce the meaning of the words within her writing.
I did enjoy that it was super action packed and even though it is listed as a romance novel there is very little romance in the book. I feel it is the perfect amount of romance to action.
The ending of the book makes me think there might be a continuation with other characters, which I think I would read because I am curious to see how thier stories play out.

This started off really promising, but ended in a really disappointing way (especially as a series' finale).
Where to begin?
While I liked Sebastian and Yelena as individual characters, I didn't really vibe with their relationship. They felt very insta-lovey to me, I mean
Spoiler they are suuuuper duuuper in love and ready to get married and live their own HEA after dating for two months.
. And then, after the
Spoiler red wedding - seriously, I saw this twist coming from miles away -
their relationship just felt super toxic to me. Like, Seb says that he'll forgive Yelena if she submits to him sexually, which she does and I ... what??? Honey, you have to talk about what happened, you can't just pretend to forget all the shit's that gone down by going at each other like wild animals the whole night long.
This whole scene altogether just felt very weird to me and left a bad taste in my mouth. Sebastian basically tells her that he will stop if she doesn't want to do something, but he also says that if she tells him to stop, he'll never forgive her and will never be with her again. Like, what? That's basically manipulating her into 'consenting' ... Idk, I just didn't really vibe with that particular scene. Especially since it's alluded to multiple times that Yelena's father mentally and verbally abused her for years, manipulating her whenever he felt like it.
I just wish that things had been resolved more satisfyingly. I knew that this book had to end with a big rift between Yelena and Adrian, to set up the main conflict between Leo and Dean in the Kingmakers series, but I still wish that Dante and Sebastian had made up or that
Spoiler the Gallo siblings had had time to properly grieve their father's death
.
I really enjoyed the cameo's from other characters, especially Aida (and Callum) who play a bigger role in this one.
In conclusion: a dissatisfying series' finale, with same great moments here and there.

This was good, but not my favorite in the series.

This one felt somewhat rushed in almost every aspect, which was sad because it is the ending of the series.

However, I LOVED Sebastian and truly seeing him come out of his quiet shell.

I am looking most forward to reading the next series involving all of the heirs
