This is the first book I've read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! Thank you, Amazon First Reads! I'll be checking out more by this author, for sure.
Great mystery
This book had me confused as to how did it for a long time. But then after I knew it became a little boring. It drug on a little during the time they were looking for Meredith. But I enjoyed the flipping of time lines between her and her sister.

Alright so this was free with Kindle Unlimited so I thought I would give it a go. While it was interesting enough to finish, looking back I can't really say that there was anything I liked about it.
The plot felt "been there, done that" in that, I wasn't surprised with the "twist" or how to book ended. Overall the story felt really shallow and lazy in some parts. What stops me from a One star is that I finished it (it is a super fast read). Overall pretty forgettable. 2 / 5.

Spoiler
I felt that the entire relationship ship between Meridith and her husband was super unhealthy- despite all the red flags throughout the story, we are told to disregard them because Merideth tells us "she loves him so much", yet we aren't really given any reasons as to why. It was a case of being told how characters feel, rather than having the reader infer based upon there interactions (which in this case would have lead to the exact opposite conclusion).
This was my Amazon First book for the month of June....from the first sentence, I was hooked. The story was told from two sisters' perspectives, but it was very easy to follow. The characters were realistic and likeable. And, of course, I wanted to know who dunnit! Suspenseful to say the least.
I love a good page turner, and this was definitely a good page turner. It was exciting, and it kept me guessing a bit. It was a book that ticked many boxes for me.
A wife disappears and a sister goes looking for her. Through alternating chapters, we go from the past forward to the day she disappeared from the wife's point of view, and we go from present day from the day she disappeared from the sister's point of view. There are nods to Gone Girl, but this is definitely not that book.
One pet peeve I have is when a character does something stupid in order to push forward the plot. I think this happened a little bit at the end, but I'll forgive it because of the sheer force with which the story sucked me in.
