The story was okay, but the writing often left important connective bits out. I was confused about how the story got to certain places. The way cameos from earlier stories were all chucked in at the end basically made zero sense.
The editing and grammar left a lot to be desired — there were some crazy errors.
The final conflict and lack of a proper apology was infuriating, and ruined the whole book for me.The guys were stupid enough to be tricked, refused to let Onyx explain, and then still didn’t make any effort to initiate an apology after they figured things out. Onyx was forced by her friends to do the work of confronting them weeks after they kicked her out, and this is supposed to be a good ending? No, yuck!! I would have been happier if Onyx had moved on with her life, and those dumb guys had to live with it. Ugh! Hate this book.

I have enjoyed this series, with this book being my favorite, so far. One thing drove me crazy- they had a locator bracelet on her the whole time. Why not check the bracelet, knowing his mother and her twin, rather than look at video? It makes the misunderstanding feel far too contrived. I know other reviewers have hated the lack of groveling. It didn't bother me. I, personally, feel words and big shows mean nothing in an apology if they aren't followed by consistent action. So, I don't need the groveling because it's indicated in the story that they're working on being better every day. I skipped all the sex scenes, as usual, so I can't speak to them, but I'd reread this story in the future. Happy reading!

I’ve loved everything that this author has written so far in this world! BUT, Onyx won my heart. I loved the softness of this storytelling and how murky the grey areas can be when protecting someone we love. I wish I could read this for the first time again. I cannot recommend Tea’s way with words and this erie’s more!

God this book was SO GOOD. I literally was at the spa all day, and I seriously couldn’t put this book down. It had me hooked in and I needed to finish it to see what would happen. The spice didn’t feel way over the top, the book wasn’t excruciatingly long, and even the miscommunication I didn’t mind all the much, which is crazy. I loved this book. The highlights that I have, make me actually scream, sob, throw up.
