One of the best fictional books I've ever read, maybe the best.
DEFINITELY the best dystopian tale.

Every page adds to the dramatic irony between the reader and suffered existence of a man and his boy. There is no hope - and yet, still, they choose to walk along the road.

An absolutely heart-wrenching tale about the journey of a father and son through a bleak and desolate post-apocalyptic earth. But it's also about perseverance and unrelenting love, and even hope among such grim circumstances.

The writing is unconventional but incredibly compelling. This is a book that sits with you for a while. Very moving.

You have to carry the fire.
I don't know how to.
Yes, you do.
Is it real? The fire?
Yes it is.
Where is it? I don't know where it is.
Yes you do. It's inside you. It always was there. I can see it.

The writing in this book is phenomenal. I wouldn't have been able to put it down, except that I had to in order to reflect on what I was feeling. This is perhaps the darkest story I've read, and I've read a lot of  post-apocalyptic novels. It's not due to the plot but because of the way the emotion is conveyed through words.

A thought-provoking exploration of a post-apocalyptic world. Very well done.
