With the continuation of the Surgeons travesty’s and the introduction of the Dominator, this book has a lot going for it. We get the first sneak peak at Dr Maura Isles, and a continuation of the amazing Jane Rizzoli, badass kickass cop. Finished this book with the craving for more.
I loved this book but the thrill was not as much as in the 1st one.
Not a bad book, but nothing special. I'm not much for crime scene, CSI- type books, so it wasn't for me.
I lost my love of reading and am happily rediscovering it. Sadly this means some series , I dont remember and without a summary I must start over.
In this installment Rizzoli is called out of Boston to look at a crime scene, similar to a case she is working in the city. Quickly it seems as the Killer from the previous novel, has found an apprentice to pick up the killing spree he started last summer.
At first, it is not apparent this is the case. But the more Rizzoli investigates and butts head with the FBI agent the clearer it becomes two serial killers have become a team.
Fast paced, well research

The book isn't that bad so far, but I'm finding that I can't continue because it's creeping me out too much. However, it has helped me narrow down why I like some mysteries series and not others. Basically, I don't want to be shown the sadistic and/or violent acts. I don't want the main character to imagine it in detail for me. And just using euphemisms doesn't help...it might even make it worse. I do fine most of the time with just the analytical description of wounds. But if I have to start reading about the victim's fear and dread, I cannot continue. As it is, right now, I'm wishing I had ten locks on my door and thankful that I don't live on a first floor with easy access for intruders. *shudders*
Wow. I loved this even better than book 1 and it’s just a cracking good thriller - gripping, horrific, chilling and fast-paced with well-developed characters.
