Loved it!! Awesome suspense and intriguing romance! Although I'm shocked that I'm really irritated by Korsak. I thought his character in the TV series was mostly endearing, but his book character was so annoying! I know it was meant to be that way, but...still. Maybe he gets better as the series goes on...?

I thought this book was interesting. It was a little predictable and I got bored with some of the characters. I do plan to continue the series.

I accidentally read these books out of order. I suggest reading all Gerristen books in chronological order. While it isn't a series so to speak, the characters' personal lives and previous incidents in past books come up and it can be confusing---and give away the outcome of a book you haven't read yet!
Another page-turner...I hardly slept when I was reading this book because i couldn't put it down and once I put it down, I couldn't stop thinking about it, wondering what would happen next!

Clever plot, some similarity to the first in the series, The Surgeon, but very readable, with great characters.
It will be hard not to move right on to Book 3! Wow! Awesome story... Nice build on the characters and dynamics.
Loved the scientific side of it. Wasn't as keen on some of the interactions between Dean and Rizzoli, but overall the characterization and internal dialogue was good.
When the tv show came out I wanted to watch it but never did. Its currently streaming on a service I dont have so I havent watched it yet. I didnt know the show was based on a book series. Im kind of glad I get to read the books first. Book 1 was not available at my library so I started with book 2. I doubt I'll ever go back and read book one since now I know how it ends. But I will still be on the lookout for the tv show, streaming at a service near me.
The Apprentice by Tess Gerritsen
The follow-up novel to Gerritsen's debut "The Surgeon" and book 2 with Rizzoli and Isles. This book introduces Dr. Isles which is pretty different from how she is represented in the TV show (but I enjoy both).
This is a continuation from "The Surgeon." While you can read this independent of the first, it would make better sense to read the other first. However, Gerritsen does well in covering all the pertinent facts.
Gruesome murders, descriptive autopsies, cops & robbers, FBI, tense situations, this has it all but the laughs.
I hesitate to go more into the actual storyline for fear of spoilers but the book description is pretty spot-on.
One thing I didn't like was the repitition of killer's motive and Rozzoli's trauma. Both are integral to the storyline, but are repeated so often that when my alzheimers sets in I'll **still** remember those two points and probably only those two points.
It's a real page-turner. Two or three days and I was done. I really hated closing the book to go to bed!

A good sequel to the one about The Surgeon. I can absolutely see Angie Harmon in the role so hope I haven't messed up any other images the author wanted us to have about Rizolli. Gerritsen continues to be an author I enjoy for suspense.
