This book was so good and so bad at the same time. It really satisfied my craving for low-stakes fantasy. I mean, a fantasy baking competition? That's my jam! This was probably the first fantasy book I read where the stakes were actually low. So, overall I loved the plot. However, I didn't love the romance and the writing wasn't great. Some of the dialogues were even cringe-worthy and partly I wondered if the book had been written by a teenager or by A.I.
I might still read the next book, just because it felt so cozy.
