OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS! I got this as an ARC and thank the old gods and the new that I did. I absolutely loved it. From the second I started reading it, it just consumed my thoughts. The whole time I’m like.. ok what is going to happen, what are we getting at here, who are these people, WHAT IS HAPPENING! And that ending. Holy crap.. THAT ENDING! When does book 2 come out?

Oh my god, you guys. This book is wow. Everything about it draws you in. It's a mafia/cartel book but it's so steeped in richness and lore it feels almost real. August is literally so amazing. I don't think I've ever connected with a character as much as I have Nora. Everything about her, her pain, her desire for freedom, her rage, everything is so relatable. I seriously cannot wait for book two. The absolute twists and turns of this book, yall. I was unprepared.

A bit about it: Nora lives a sheltered life under the controlling hand of her godfather, a notorious crime lord. She helps him by selling illegal firearms and creating fake IDs. But something happens that forces her to take a step back and look at how generally fucked up things are around her. Nora wants to run to freedom, the one thing she's ever wanted, but one man stands in her way. August, the new head of security. Forced to flee together, they have to try and ignore the growing attraction while fighting for their lives but nothing can save Nora for the truth of who the man who raised her is.

ARC REVIEW
Welcome to the house of the wicked ; where everything you think you know is a lie. This book never gave us a break , it was from one life altering revelation to another. The beginning is a little slow but then the plot twist just hits you deep. I never saw half the stuff that happened coming omg Nora my heart aches for her cause that girl deserves the world. You would think she finally gets a break and then boom another revelation; I want to strangle ricky so badly . Honestly i need the next book like right now because i can't be left wanting . The spice is a 3 but the writing is 5.

The House of the Wicked by Oona Arlo 4⭐️

“I know that even though I’ve never surrendered to anything in my life, I will gladly surrender everything to Nora.”

Nora is a mafia princess who wants nothing more than to escape the confines of her gilded cage. We follow along as she discovers the truth and lies that have been wrapped around her. August is her adoptive father’s new head of security, who has been assigned to protect her. Both of them cannot control the chemistry between them. I love the side characters too! Yves, Thalia and Alley are all so amazing and clearly care about our girl. This book ends on a major cliff hanger and I am chomping at the bit waiting for the next one!

The build up in this book is literal perfection. It’s been over a decade since I’ve experienced this type of excitement to read the next book in a series!
