as with most anthologies, this had some really poignant and insightful essays and some that fell flat For Me. particularly enjoyed Loving Annie Hayworth and The Healed Body. generally enjoyed this integration of two of my favorite things- gay stuff and horror movies.

Such a cool collection of essays; I loved hearing the connections others have made with movies I’ve enjoyed, and the personal anecdotes that the authors shared as well. This was a unique and important read!

especially enjoyed the disability/The Ring story, the Grace story, and the surrogate story

as with most anthologies there are going to be some hits and some misses. this was a mixed bag for me!! but i did really enjoy it as a whole!!

i particuarly enjoyed getting to read more of carmen maria machado's writing. it was awesome to hear about some films i was wondering whether they would come up- jennifer's body, us, hereditary.

i was able to get through this book quite quickly really. i think the only thing i would've liked was: more modern-ish horror movies. i somewhat feel that because it seemed as though many of the writers were millenial-ish age many of the films were of a certain time. which makes sense!! but to me personally there were lots of movies i wish had been included!!
