Some essays I really liked, and others I really did not like. I gave this book a fair shake, but I think multiple memoir style books just aren't really my thing.

DID NOT FINISH: 54%

I initially thought this would be a deep-dive into the queerness of horror, a discussion about the blatant homophobia and transphobia in the genre.

But it's more like a collection of mini-memoirs of multiple authors, who have connected certain events of their lives to some horror movies.

I'm sure this would be someone's cup of tea, but it's not mine. I struggle to read memoirs as it is, and By the 45% mark, I was struggling to pay attention. Simply put, I didn't care about what was being said.

Like with most essay collections, I find that some essays are stronger than other. This was the case with this collection, so while I found it fascinating, informative and impactful I can not rate it higher because of just how much a couple of the essay within the collection.
