I liked the way the essays mixed personal stories with movie plots. 
However, I'd agree with other reviewers that some of this became repetitive and overall there was more misses than hits.

I especially hated the essay about Childs Play where the author shared so many incredibly personal things about his adopted child and described him in an incredibly dehuminsing way. Absolutely shocked anyone thought this was ok to write, never mind publish.
