I did not expect to love it as much as i did.
Woahh!!! ✨✨✨✨✨

While I thought this book had a great writing style, I was underwhelmed by the whole thing. As a thriller, I thought it move a lot faster than it did. The whole time I kept thinking it'll pick up in the next chapter. The reviews I heard said that you won't want to put it down but I felt like there were many times I could put it down and come back to see what happens later. I also hated that I was able to predict a lot of what happens.

Dull story, unlikeable characters, turns suddenly gruesome at the end after dragging for hundreds of pages. The “bad guy” was obvious. Awful book, I should expect no more from Sager

Anticlimactic and predictable. You know exactly what's going to happen after like 30 pages and see every "twist" coming from a mile away. So, as as reader, it was frustrating to just sit there and wait for the characters to catch up. I also did not like the mc, did not care what would happen to her (or anyone else actually), and was bored by reading about everyone's backstories.

Jules Larsen's has a new job as an apartment sitter. There's only two rules - no nights spent away from the apartment and no disturbing the other residents. She is now staying at the Bartholomew, one of Manhattan's most high-profile and mysterious buildings. There's a girl there named Ingrid who reminds Jules of the sister she lost eight years ago. Ingrid confides that the Bartholomew is not what it seems. Jules doesn't think much of it until the next day when Ingrid disappears.

This one was a page-turner. Lots of weird, spooky things are going on in that big, beautiful apartment building. What secrets are within its walls? Where are these girls disappearing to and why is it happening? Oh, the suspense! Loved the gargoyle. Another well-written, engrossing read from Riley Sager. I can't wait for more!

Thanks to Netgalley and Dutton for an ARC.
