Wow!

Wow! I loved the book, but the next book better have answers. That ending 😱 Definitely picking up Jackal right away!

This was fun! But objectively speaking, it wasn't a good book.

These passages basically sums up what this book is about.

"But there’s something about being taken care of by a large, unemotional man that touches me, and so I mutely accept."

"I grow jealous when he flips things in a frying pan. I inwardly seethe when the muscles in his forearms flex as he stirs. Everything is tainted. My jealousy is ridiculous, thickly cloying, and I acknowledge this. Folsom is not mine. We are not in a relationship. But I want to be and so I’m sick with insecurity."

Interesting dystopian concept, kinda meh at times. I never finished the series, though it was alright. I probably won't return to it. I only made it to book 2.

Different

Not what I thought, story was good and I am interested in continuing the series. Seriously though I want to kill the Governor. 🤣

EPIC CLIFFHANGER. I did not want to read about Jackal which is the next book. I think this could have been a stand alone. The plot and concept is good, it is a dystpian novel, kind of gives off a flipped version of The Handmaid's Tale. However, the last 30% off the book felt incredibly rushed. I am disappointed with the end im not sure what I was thinking when I saw there were only 2 books out already. It was interesting enough though.

This was the first book I read by Tarryn Fisher and Willow Aster, and it definitely will not be the last. This book helped re-ignite my love of reading. Folsom sucked me in and played like a movie in my mind. I can not wait to step into the world of Jackal!
