The Exorcist’s House by Nick Roberts was a solid, fast-paced horror novel that delivered the familiar haunted house and possession tropes in a solid horror story way. The atmosphere was creepy at times, and the pacing kept the story moving, making it an easy read. However, the plot was predictable, and the characters often feel underdeveloped. While it doesn't break new ground, I could see this being turned into a movie since it’s got enough eerie moments to satisfy anyone looking for a straightforward and spooky story.
3.75-4 stars
Love a good demonic possession book. This was creepy and had my heart racing many times. Quick read since it was fairly fast-paced and engaging. Dialogue was a bit cheesy at times but not bad enough to detract from my rating. I like the very ending of the book but had issues with the last scene in the basement.if not for that, my rating would’ve been higher.

A few fun horror set pieces aren't enough to make me recommend this book. The dialogue is stilted. The characters are one dimensional arseholes. The plot beats are quite predictable. The only reason I give it two stars is because the audiobook performer did a great job, particularly when portraying the antagonist.
Kudos to the author for getting something published, which is more than I'll ever achieve, but I spent the whole book rooting for the demon and only finished the book out of spite.
