This took me way too long to read with how short of a read it is compared to my normal reading, which was not the fault of the book in any way. Its not that i didnt like the story, it was good. However, being in 3rd person made it read SO slowly for me, I wouldve liked it so muh more in first person so i could feel more connected to the story. This is one of those stories that wouldve been better in a movie rendition and not as a book because i wouldve loved to be able to picture it and see it happening and feel the anticipation (mainly due to horror music). I mean, i understood the point and it gave the haunting in connecticut, exorcist, conjuring, that one movie with the devil coming down the stairs as a ram that im blanking on the name of type of vibes which is great in a paranomal type of horror, but it was just, really really lacking that extra oomf to make it stand out for me and it didnt really pick up till closer to the end and then it just sort of… ended! I wanted to know what was going to happen next! I feel like if the first part of the book had the same sort of ambiance and action as the second half i wouldve rated this higher! Overall, it was a really good read, it wasnt terrible, but it wasnt 5 stars for me.

I LOVED this book. I am pretty stingy with five star ratings, unless it grabbed my attention and kept it throughout the entire story. "The Exorcists House" had a great plot, and an amazing setting- go West Virginia. I hope that everyone else gets just as much out of this book as I did.

I absolutely loved this book by Nick Roberts! Mr. Roberts sets the stage with a beautiful prologue, and then sends the reader for a crazy, wild ride. Daniel, with his wife Nora, and their daughter Alice, buys a farm hours away from their home in Ohio. Once they get settled in, all Hell literally breaks loose!
Well, why not? Before them, the house belonged to an Exorcist.
This was so well written, he had my attention the whole way through and, by the second half, I was on the edge of my seat. Kudos to the author on this one. I'll be reading the sequel, Genesis, very soon.
Oh, and you ain't slick, Nick Roberts! I caught your little references to The Exorcist. Well done!

I had a pretty hard time staying engaged with this one – the simplistic writing style failed to captivate and the overt religious overtones and symbology mostly felt campy, like a bad horror flick. Bonus points for the creepy ending, but overall not one I'd recommend.
