My god was this book a struggle to get through, the beginning was promising but then nothing interesting happened until more than halfway in. I didn’t care at all about the family, things just happen to progress the story the characters do weird things that don’t make sense. The dialogue between the characters is bad and the writer seems to really like describing unimportant tasks of these people’s everyday lives. This is the first horror book I’ve read and it was a huge let down, it was a recommendation from TikTok which I thought I researched by looking at reviews.
I really don’t get how people are praising this book, it was a up hill battle the whole time.

I loved every second of this story!
It has a great balance of scary moments, funny dialog, and tension.

This book scared the sh!t out of me. So good! Some parts I guessed were happening but it did not dampen the fear as it occurred in the book. Highly recommend if you love a possession story.
This book had some creepy and gross moments, but it was pretty cheesy too. The ending dragged too far for my taste.
What a good horrorstory this was! Just like the really good movies, and I needed that feeling back. It was scary, creepy and well written. It was easy to read and to keep on reading. And it kept me from reading in to the night, and you know it’s a good one when you can’t read it before bed…
The story was good and I loved the banter between the characters, it made it fun and relatable to read. It was a nice build up and it never got boring!
I loved that the dog did not die, hurray for Buck! But I would’ve loved to read about them taking Buck with them after selling the house.
The end, the antichrist baby, I loved that. Nice touch that looked like a weird missing part at first with Nora being back upstairs and nothing else being said about if for a while till the last part that made me grin and clutch my pearls.
If there is a part two I will be reading that too. This one I might read again someday!

This was SUPER spooky! I really enjoyed this a lot, and am excited to give it my vote in the book brawl.
