Rist's POV has my heart. The last 30% of the book had me on the edge of my seat, but it did take me awhile to get into this story than the first book. Ella is my girl and I love her character progression. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Pokracovanie trochu narastlo (nieco vyse 850 stran!) a hlavne sa podstatne zlepsilo. Aj co sa tyka autorovho pisania, aj co sa tyka kopirovania scen z inych fantasy, aj co sa tyka niekedy zvlastnych reakcii postav. To vsetko boli moje vycitky k prvemu dielu a s potesenim konstatujem, ze v druhom boli minimalizovane, az by som povedal ze uplne odstranene.

Druhy diel je omnoho epickejsi, omnoho rozmanitejsi, predstavuje svet hned z niekolkych miest a dejovych liniek sleduje asi 7 (niektore samozrejme mensie, ine vacsie). Ako vzdy pri sledovani viacerych dejovych linii, niektore su slabsie ako ine, ale s tym sa neda nic robit.

Vacsi problem a jediny dovod preco som knihe nenapalil plny pocet je pomerne dlha pasaz, kde sa viacmenej nic nedeje a vsetky dejove linky viacmenej stagnuju, pripadne postavy len niekam cestuju. Zhruba od strany 350 je to ale citanie uplne ine, zazivne, rychle a keby bola kniha len tato cast, urcite dostane plny pocet. Takto je to za 4, ale bude mat sancu v dalsom diely, ktory uz mam nastastie objednany.

Another banger from Ryan. This sequel fully continues the growth of the world and the characters. Of course, some classic fantasy tropes are sprinkled throughout but they are done knowing what they are. It’s a celebration of fantasy. Eragon meets Game of Thrones!

Just a really run adventurous dragon rider book. But I’m on book two and he has yet to ride his dragon!!! I will say though the action is fast paced and bloody and the world building is great! Every culture feels different and significant regardless of the tropes they adhere to. If you want a fantasy book that’s exactly what you expect a fantasy book to be but still a really fun read then this is it!
