It's not terrible, but I found it very shallow. The romance was pretty poor, but more disappointing than that, the relationship between Mika and the children was badly developed and left me cold. It made me appreciate The House in the Cerulean Sea much more, it does everything better and I would recommend that over this

I enjoyed the development of the characters as I kept reading. Some of the things said really resonated with me. This book brought me out of my reading slump! I felt like I could see myself in the places that the characters were in. I loved the diversity of the characters as well. Overall, this is the perfect book to start off the fall season with! With that,

I felt like the reveal of the major things in regards to Primrose and Lillian could've been revealed a bit earlier. Even so, it might've been me not paying as close attention to the story as I usually do. It has been a long month...
