Well I had this sitting in my audio books for a while I got it after reading The Midnight Library which I absolutely loved, and though I would give some of Matt Haig books a go.
Well this was certainly a bizarre and odd book but very intriguing with the whole plotline of if an alien was to come to the Earth and what they would think and react to Humans, also while on a mission. It certainly an insightful read.
Synopsis
It's hardest to belong when you're closest to home . . .
One wet Friday evening, Professor Andrew Martin of Cambridge University solves the world's greatest mathematical riddle. Then he disappears.
When he is found walking naked along the motorway, Professor Martin seems different. Besides the lack of clothes, he now finds normal life pointless. His loving wife and teenage son seem repulsive to him. In fact, he hates everyone on the planet. Everyone, that is, except Newton. And he's a dog.
Can a bit of Debussy and Emily Dickinson keep him from murder? Can the species which invented cheap white wine and peanut butter sandwiches be all that bad? And what is the warm feeling he gets when he looks into his wife's eyes?
Overall as mention its an odd book but highly additive as you want to find out what happens next and also gets you thinking. I will definitely be checking out Haig other books as there just something quirky about them and they are easy to read.

The Humans was really fun to listen to. I was constantly curious to see where the story would go, and I loved seeing an outsider's understanding of the mess known as humanity. The humor was infections and the narrator did a great job bringing our main character to life. There were a lot of insightful moments as well.
I can't say too much without diving into spoilers, but I would say it's definitely worth a read or listen.

Moderate: Death, Suicide attempt, Abandonment
Minor: Sexual assault
I absolutely adored this book - I loved the comedic value of an alien walking in the shoes of someone from our planet, and being completely and utterly baffled by the things that we do. I loved the connection with the family, particularly the dog!
