Ehm. *throws book hard and far*

I have a few choice curse words I'd like to throw out as well but honestly I'm just sad. Thanks.

“Each time you happen to me all over again”

I loved this book. “The Age of Innocence” has a little bit of everything- a tragic love story, humor, social commentary, subtle hypocrisy, beautiful writing, and an ENDING. Highly recommend!

Edith Wharton's incisive wit made this novel a treat to read. Especially considering Wharton's own anti-Semitism, it was interesting to examine New York Society's simultaneous fascination with and fear of the foreign, of individuals who are not the "same kind of white" as they are.

Definitely one of my favorite English-language novels. Absolutely astonishingly gorgeous.
