I’m glad this wraps up this arc, the format of them trying to find a person and then constantly chasing them around even when the person leaves them, got repetitive. I appreciated how explicit this one was about the class inequities of Victorian London.

Oh the nostalgia! The best thing about these books are the lessons on how to be a good human. The Magic Treehouse novels have to be one the biggest reason’s my kiddo has turned out so well. These were my son’s favorite books. I miss when he was little, even if I know I’m internally romanticizing it.

This particular story was teaching empathy for others, what it looks like, how to help, and recognizing/admitting your own privilege. It also gets you familiar with historic figures, so that you’ll want to keep learning as you get older. More adults should read children’s books for themselves. I love Jack and Annie!

“Oh man,” said Jack. “Everyone was nice to us when we looked rich. Now it feels like the whole world’s against us.” (Ch. 5)

It wasn’t really about Christmas, it was introducing us to Charles Dickens and teaching us how to critically think about his works. While A Christmas Carol isn’t my favorite, I’m glad Jack and Annie saved it.

Listened with the kids; Magic Tree House is amazing

This is the companion to the Rags to Riches Research Guide. I want to introduce my youngest niece to Charles Dickens, and remembering that my oldest and I loved to read the Magic Treehouse books together, I wanted to check this out to see if I remember correctly. Still a great read!

Loved the story around Charles Dickens!!

I like this series so much I wish the next magic tree house book was out already. I cannot go to bed without at least reading two or more magic tree house books every night!
I like reading that much! Got to love it.

This book makes me feel like I went back in time.
This was a real good book. I enjoyed reading this story.

In "A Ghost Tale For Christmas Time," Jack and Annie travel back to the time of the famous writer Charles Dickens. Merlin has told them that they need to help him in some way. But when they get there, they discover that Charles has everything he needs-and they don't! How can they help Charles-and protect themselves from the bustling city-at the same time?
