One thing I like about Tomi is how she can make you feel so many mixed emotions about so many of her characters. On one hand, I find myself face palming every time Amari makes another bad choice, on the other hand, the gods chose her for a reason so it has to mean something for her to live right? And you almost hope Inan gets the redemption arc that we all crave.
My favorite is how both book 1 and 2 have introduced the title of the next book into the ending of the previous book. (So Book 1 hints at book 2, and book to hints at book 3). Cant wait to read the finale.

The start of this book was very strong and I was ready to give it 5 stars up until the last 10%, which felt as though it undid a lot of the progress of the first 90% of the book
I found it far too convenient that they can now raise the dead. There was definitely hints to it happening throughout the first & second book, but it’s still felt like it undid the consequences of Amari’s choices and made the story feel a lot more juvenile.

Absolutely Captivating!
Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi is an absolutely exhilarating read! From start to finish, I was completely immersed in the world she created. The characters are so well-developed and compelling—I felt every emotion right alongside them. Whether it was heartbreak, hope, or triumph, Adeyemi’s writing made it all feel real, like I was right there fighting the battles with them. Her storytelling is powerful and vivid, and the pacing kept me turning the pages late into the night. I love this series so much, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantasy that’s as emotionally deep as it is action-packed.
