Talking with Psychopaths and Savages: Letters from Serial Killers

This book is not what I thought it would be at all I thought it would be interviews with psychopaths and savages but I was wrong.
55 pages in, all I have had so far is the authors opinion about killers, his political views, and not much else.
On to chapters titled with a killers name I finally think I am getting to the point of the book, yet the writing includes many other killers quotes and isn't solely about the killer who the chapter was named after. I am confused. I am waiting for his 'talks with the psychopath as the title of the book has promised me.
I continue to read but the interview never comes, just a history of the killer and what he did (I could find this on Wikipedia) and the authors opinions.
106 pages in... I have to give up :(

I was really looking forward to reading this, but i was highly disappointed. There should be so much more information with each case discussed.

A really interesting listen! Berry-Dee doesn't pull any punches and tells these murders as they were. I would highly recommend this but I would say it was for those with a week constitution!!

Makes for grim reading, lots of dates and times but also descriptions of the serial killers killings.
This book is defiantly not a bed time read, unless you're like me and can read intense details on murders and still get a good nights sleep regardless.
I listened to this as an audio book, and can say It was a fascinating look into the mind of a murder and the brain of killers.
There is a section where the author talks about the brain, which I really enjoyed and felt I was learning something I normally wouldn't look into.
The narrator, Colin Mace, was amazing and really sucked you into the details with his different voices and well read accounts. I know I will be looking for more audiobooks he narrates in the future.
If you are sensitive, this might not be the book for you, the author goes into deep details regarding murders and other acts committed that some might find triggering.

I wasn't expecting to love this book as much as I did. But Christopher Berry-Dee has such a relatable way of writing, and I really felt I was inside his mind and sitting having a chat with him.
He details several well known (and a few unknown) serial killers and explains in his own words the reasons for their actions. I just found the book very easy to keep up with, the writing flowed well and all in all I felt I was learning a lot from the author.

This book is packed full of true, interesting crime stories, and if you're a murder crime lover, this is definitely a book for you. He includes a variety of people, methods, victims and overall killings.
This book lacked focus and an overarching purpose. Excessive repetition and rambling tangents galore. Coupled with spelling and grammar errors, this makes for very tedious reading. A click baity book. It titillates with graphic violence and horror and provides no academic argument or is informative in any constructive way.
