It's no great work of literature by any means, but it wasn't awful, either. It serves the purpose as the second book in a trilogy -- plot advancement and a cliffhanger. Unfortunately, I wasn't blown away with it like I was Delirium; some parts were just too jumpy. But, I want to know how it ends and will likely read the final book whenever it is published.

***SPOILER ALERT***

So, this book is basically driving me NUTS! I just finished it and I am so torn, who do I want to end up with Lena?? I loved Alex so much, but I kind of had finally resigned to the fact that he was dead, I didn't believe he'd be back, she seen him soaked in blood. So I decided to let myself like Julian, and I really am attached to him and Alex both now. I am conflicted. I cannot wait for Requiem to come out. At all. Boy-dilemma aside, I really have enjoyed this book, as crazy as it may have made me. It's full of suspense and passion.

I'm kind of disappointed. I didn't really like it that much. Lena seemed really unrealistic to me, and frankly, stupid. Nor did I like Julian. I didn't see anything that attractive in him. The book didn't have that much action for me. I don't really know how to explain it.

dear lauren oliver, i need the 3rd installment of delirium now. NOW.

Too many things I want to say that would spoil it. Ahhhhhhh!

Well, I thought Delirium was okay. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t feel that it deserved all of the hype it got. Lena was alright, as characters go, but I could take her or leave her.

I definitely wasn’t so impartial to Pandemonium. In this book, Lena definitely comes into her own, and I liked the way she was trying to find herself throughout the book, and I liked the way that in this one, she really seems to have embraced the fact she can have her own opinions and act the way she wants. I also liked the fact she was willing to work – which really highlighted the changes in her character for me.

I also liked the fact that this book picks up exactly where Delirium left off – I think that was necessary. I do have to admit, however, that I did struggle with the way the chapters jump between ‘then’ and ‘now’. At first, it was like simultaneously trying to remember what happened in Delirium, trying to grasp what was happening, and being thrown into another random situation all at the same time. However, it did work once I’d gotten my head around it, and I actually came to like the way it moved the storyline along quickly and cohesively.

I have to admit, I didn’t really see the Lena/other-unnamed-character romance (see, still technically spoiler free!) coming, and probably wouldn’t have if I hadn’t heard about it on message boards and in other reviews. I actually felt happy that she could find happiness again – though it all kinda gets blown out of the water by the end of the book!

Definitely a favourite for this year – would recommend this to people, even those who didn’t enjoy Delirium so much, because honestly, Lena has a story, and this is where she tells it!

This was sooo good

I think this is the first time I've ever read a sequel to a book I foun kind of boring and predictable and I'm so glad I did. the ending of the first book was literally the only reason I decided to give this one a go (since I found the whole thing except the end just very predictable) an this one could not be more different! I really liked the way the narration flipped between the wilds and the valid world and the story line was much more interesting and faster paced than the first book. I really liked the fact that raven, as a woman, occupies the hardened leader role that usually is taken by men and I was intrigued by the people living underground (I kind of was rooting for Lena just to stay there and be happy). Can't wait to read the third book now!
