This is how a sequel is written. The then vs now perspectives were different. I love the character development and as a middle book it had depth and moved the plot along. I've already grabbed the last book.

 **spoiler alert** Quite an amazing sequel. At first I didn't like how it jumped back and forth, but it was all useful and good story. And I don't think the book would have been so engrossing if it all went in chronological order.

They really tricked me into thinking Alex was dead and that there wouldn't be any love triangle. But this is a YA dystopian novel. Of course there's going to be a love triangle.
