oh my goodness!!! ahhhhh!!!! i loved it! i need the next book...NOW!! but its not out yet!
Not quite as good as the first, but still, very exciting. I called two major reveals pretty quickly, but still enjoyed the journey. Can't wait to see how it all ends.
I went through the majority of this book actually quite enjoying it. I actually liked the alternating chapters. I liked reading about Lena change and grow as a person. I liked the glimpses into another city besides Portland. I liked learning more about the Invalids and the Rebellion. But then...
The ending.
Like, seriously, you're going to bring back Alex? Right at the point when Lena acknowledges that she has feelings for Julian?
There's a beautiful story that could have been told here about moving on after loss, and (as cheesy as it sounds) about learning to love again. But that's all gone to shit now, hasn't it? And the fact that Alex is miraculously alive kind of cheapens the ending of Delirium.
I can see that the last book in this trilogy is going to be absolutely chock full of love triangle BS and I'm... not... looking forward to it.

I usually don't care for books where the chapters flip flop between the past and the present, but I think, in the end, this book did it very well. You see a lot of character growth, and a lot of foreshadowing for what's to come in the 3rd book. Lena goes through an awful lot in the book and at one point she says she can't believe it's only been a year since her evaluation...I guess, for some reason, I thought more time had passed than that. I'm a little annoyed with the the cliffhanger ending, but I saw it coming. Oliver really has a way of getting you hooked so you HAVE to read the next book in the series.
I just love this sequel so much. It is so packed, it has a little bit of everything in it. The character development is just amazing. Who would have thought that Lena could evolved into such a badass character? Oh, and I did not expect for Julian to grow on me. I don't know if I should ship this two or not to be honest. I mean, are we seriously forgetting about Alex? This is so frustrating.
WHAT. ON. EARTH. JUST. HAPPENED? I'm still wrapping my head around the ending. God, that was so awkward and cruel. I'M SHOOKT.

I didn't like the 2nd book in this series as much as the first book. It was fairly predictable and a bit drawn, but nonetheless, I loved the ending! Can't wait for Book 3.
